What does the Artisan Partnership do?
We work directly with Mexican artisans to create handwoven baskets with lids that make colourful planters for indoor plant pots and unique storage baskets for clothes, toys, or bathroom bits. Every basket helps skilled artisans in Mexico receive a sustainable income and keep traditions alive.
How do I know the products are high quality?
Our artisans are incredibly skilled and every basket is quality checked before being sent to its new home. However, the handmade process also means there may be slight variations and blemishes, which add to the basket’s one-of-a-kind personality.
Will I get the exact basket in the photo?
Every single basket we sell is one of a kind, so what you see in the pictures is exactly what you'll get. Because each basket is unique, we take a range of photos of each one so that you can be sure you pick the perfect basket for your home.

How do I care for my basket?
Since this basket is made of natural materials, the colour may change over time, so avoid direct sunlight to keep it looking its best and brightest.

What are the baskets made from?
The baskets are made of palm leaf fibres that are a byproduct of farming in Oaxaca, Mexico. A small community of female artisans meticulously gather, strip, and dye these palm leaf fibres, and then they intricately weave them into beautiful, practical baskets with astonishing speed and precision.

Can I use my basket as a plant pot cover?
Yes! But always use a plastic plant pot and saucer or a thick plastic liner inside the basket. We can even provide the perfect sized pot and saucer for you!

How do I fit a plant pot inside the basket?
Don’t worry about bending the sides of the basket slightly to get the plant pot in and out. Our baskets are very flexible and durable, and the pot and saucer fit nice and snuggly inside.

How do I clean my basket?
Don't worry if you get a mark on your basket, just spot clean it with warm water.
Can you gift wrap it for me?
All our baskets come with The Artisan Partnership tags and information about the artisan who made your basket. We are also more than happy to write a personalised message to the recipient or include an Artisan Partnership card for you to write your own message.
How are the packages sent?
Every basket arrives in an Artisan Partnership branded box. Packages are sent with Hermes within the UK and with DPD for international orders. We will send you a tracking code so that you can follow its progress.
What happen if my package doesn't arrive?
We work very closely with our couriers to ensure we offer the best possible delivery options. If you experience a problem, please contact us and we will speak to the courier to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
